About Us
Mountain Grove Baptist Church is located in the Mountain View community of Catawba County, North Carolina, just south of Hickory. The Church has been a part of Mountain View since 1881, when a brush arbor was built to provide a place of worship for families in the community around Bakers Mountain.

Morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, and consists of contemporary and traditional music, the greeting of members and visitors by the congregation, offerings, and a sermon delivered by the pastor. A nursery is provided for infants up to four-year-old. Parents of infants are welcomed to keep their child with them during the service as well.

Programs in the church include Sunday School, the music program consisting of a seasonal sanctuary choir, praise team, and several instrumentalists, the EPIC Student Ministry youth program, the Faith JAM children's program, and Mission Friends for preschoolers. Wednesday night activities include the Wednesday night supper, youth and children's meetings, and an adult Bible study led by the pastor.
Mountain Grove financially supports the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and is a member of the Catawba Valley Baptist Association. With a congregation of approximately 200 members, attendance at Sunday morning worship usually consists of about 70-75 attendees. As with many churches, our attendance has been adversely affected by the pandemic of 2020.
